How To Make Your Own Shampoo Using Rhassoul and Soap Nuts

Rhassoul is a mineral-rich clay that works to sooth sensitive scalp. You can buy this clay from products selling natural and organic products such as the guys at Natural Spa Supplies.

To make your own shampoo, simply mix the clay with water and allow it to develop for about 10 minutes and then add a little more water depending on your preferred consistency, which ideally should be yogurt-like. It is best to make a little clay as you need it.

When preparing the clay, put it in glass, a wooden bowl, clay or stone; the bowl should preferably be shallow to get the clay to hydrate faster. Once you pour the water in, there is no need to stir the mixture; simply cover to allow it to hydrate and activate.

Ideally, you should mix 100g of rhassoul clay with 140g of water.

Alternatively, one container of clay needs 1.2 containers of water. You may add essential oils and other natural ingredients into the clay. In this case, you can stir the mixture using a wooden spoon.

For best results, massage the clay into your scalp then comb it through your hair before rinsing it off.

Admittedly, it is not easy to find a shampoo that really works to calm and treat sensitive scalp. We’ve helped make the search a little easier for you by recommending our five best allergy free shampoos. Each of these will work differently depending on your needs so don’t be afraid to move on to something else if one product does not work for you.
